From the Desk of Honor Raconteur
About Me. (As egotistical as that sounds.)
Alright, I must give you a little background information for this page to make any sense. I do more than just write. After Jaunten was released, I had a lot of people ask me questions, come to me for advice and technical help, and things of that nature. So I eventually gave up and just started a publishing house so that I could delegate the work load. As of 2012 Raconteur House was founded.
One of the things that I do aside from being President of the House (now doesn't that just sound impressive?) is give presentations. I have been asked several times, by different school systems, to come in and talk to their students on how to be an author. I find that these events are totally fun. Here I will give you a picture of me taken at the event and the link to the article written about it, if you're curious enough to go read.

Booksigning at the Coffee County Library January 2019
We weren't able to have the book signing in 2018, we were snowed out, so many people were happy to see me this year. Talk about being behind! They asked me what they'd missed in the past two years that they'd seen me, and I almost drew a blank. SO MUCH WAS PUBLISHED. LOL Here's a few pictures from the event. The bottom one is with my most honorable editor, the Katie.
A special visit
I had a very special experience today.
I received a message yesterday from a fan's mother that her teenage son was in the hospital. Due to a bad infection, he'd had brain surgery the previous week and was now in recovery from it. She asked if it would be at all possible if I could visit him. As it happens, I only live an hour from that hospital and I immediately agreed. I showed up this morning with books and shirt in hand. Of course, his mother didn't tell him I was coming so when I opened the door, it was quite the surprise for him. Jackson had the blankest expression I'd ever seen on a human being for two seconds. A "this person is out of context" look on his face. Then he immediately whipped around and demanded of his mother, "You did this, didn't you?" Yes, Jackson, she most certainly did. :) I only had about twenty minutes with him, as he had a lot of specialists coming in and out, but it was an awesome twenty minutes. Special wishes for a speedy recovery! |
